All been very quiet from the club about this for some time now.
Today's case is against "Halifax Rugby League Football Club Limited" which is the dormant company. And not "HALIFAX RLFC (TRADING) LTD" which is the active club, Not sure what difference that makes?
High Court Update: Positive Progress for Halifax Panthers
High Court Update: Positive Progress for Halifax Panthers
The Board of Directors are pleased to provide an update following today’s High Court hearing (29 January 2025) regarding the club and HMRC.
Importantly, the winding up petition was not passed. The judge has directed both parties to submit additional evidence and documentation as part of the process.
We want to reassure our supporters that this matter is being handled professionally, and the club remains in honour throughout. Day-to-day operations continue as normal, and our focus remains firmly on preparations for the season ahead.
As always, we appreciate your continued trust and support and will provide further updates when appropriate.
What I’d like to know is “what would happen if the winding up petition had been passed”.
Is the next step compulsory closure and cease trading immediately or because the club was advised by specialists that they had a strong case and it’s been genuinely disputed even though the judge ruled against the club can he grant a period of time to pay up?
Baffles me how both hmrc and the rugby club both represented by so called super duper barristers "need more time to gather evidence " how much more time do you need this boring story as been rambling on for months . I can only surmise these barristers are working from home.

Someone is making a lot of money out of the whole thing.
It's not dismissed so is still disputed, and as someone else said it's just kicking the can down the road. If we have a poor start to the season causing a reduction in gate numbers, a sponsor go pop. Anything like that then we're just going round in circles. Already had a potential revenue stream in the Challenge Cup disappear.
Details all the prize money from the 2001 Challenge Cup paid to clubs.
Mind you, keep reading through the programme and you see how far backwards the game really has gone, back then Oldham had Alliance and Academy managers, And a progamme of about 40 pages with plenty of adverts, albeit possibly swelled with it been a cup game. It's a far cry from what we see now
