For my penny worth rebranding if it is done right could be the saviour for fax. Whilst the badge looks the part the mascots look like kitty cats not a rippling muscled fierce big cat! They won’t strike fear into the opposition.
My Humble Opinion Only - let the knockers begin.
Part quote from The Beggars Littany by John Taylor circa 16C

With the younger ones in mind it could well be a good move, it’s new, there’s nothing else like it in the local area and just the sort of thing they would latch on to. Which team do you support young man someone asks? Who do you think they would prefer as their answer? Halifax Rugby League or HALIFAX PANTHERS ? That combined with a competitive team gets the parents interested and for season ticket holders the kids come free. Clearly some thought gone into it. Time to get behind the club and not be left behind and wondering.

I agree faxcar. I’ve been watching Fax since 1978 and I’m now 51. I still see the same faces I saw at Thrum Hall but we are a lot older! So, yes we need the youth onboard if not the club will die.
I like the Panthers name. It isn’t trying to rhyme with Halifax and it is a strong logo. It’s a shame the club custodians back in 1996 didn’t latch onto the Panthers in stead of Blue Sox. Despite Martyn Sadler saying he liked the Blue Sox name (and I thought it was the wrong place to say he liked it during a rebrand announcement) I never met a Fax supporter who did like that name.
I for one will embrace it, the squad is looking better than it has in years and I feel truly excited and confident for the coming season. I have got my season ticket and asked for a Panthers home shirt from Santa! To me it all feels very very positive. Up the Panthers !

It's so easy to say I like tradition/I'm a traditionalist etc But The Next Generation of RL Supporters Will check out news about There team online on there phones So a well designed Badge and Nickname as the Panthers is what is needed in this the 21st century, My team Salford Red Devils recently changed their Club Badge as well After speaking to Media Partners To quote someone from a Worldwide advertising agency " Its all about the Brand man" And please don't drink my Almond milk that's got my name on a post it note that's in the fridge in the Staff kitchen.
Whaat?

For what its worth I think its a good name and I genuinely think if you use it right it can help grow your club. Hopefully the people who've remained loyal all these years can be at worst neutral (its just a name), but the appeal to kids in the local schools to be able to say they are going to see the Panthers might be greater than some think. Anyway good luck with it.

I personally think it is a good move by the club. A mixture of building what looks to be a decent squad with a new brand is a good start. But regardless of what marketing is done, nothing will market the club better than performances on the pitch.
But the club seems to have fresh new ideas and is being proactive which is a nice change to the plodding along of the last 10 or so years.
