If I remember rightly, Springer's last game for Fax (or one of his last games) was a couple of seasons ago at home to Widnes. It was absolutely chucking it down (the pitch was real water splash stuff) and we had gone 16-4 down. When we restarted after one of their scores, Springer lumbered lazily forward as we kicked off and was penalised for off side. I'm assuming this infuriated Grix as he was subbed shortly after and I don't think he played again. I stand to be corrected but it sticks in my memory. All was well in the end, Liam Harris kicked a last minute drop goal to snatch it 17-16.

Your memory serves you well there. It was a diabolical penalty to give away

Its just strange how some players are seemingly punnished while others can get away with the same tripe every week and still keep their place. Before I say this I must say that I am a huge Tangata fan not just for his on field style but the work he does off the field as well but after costing us the game at Bradford you would have imagined he would have been punished but the following week still in the team and still making mistakes and giving penalties away. The players will see this and it leads to a big disconnect in the squad.
Luckily we have what should be a pretty easy game this Sunday which will buy Grix a bit of time and its going to be interesting to see who the fall guys are from last weeks game.

If SG drops the players who were awful, truly awful, at Batley we won't be able to put a team out.
Hear All, See All, Say Nowt. Eat All, Sup All, Pay Nowt. And if Tha ever does Owt for Nowt, Allus do it for Thissen.
Interesting discussion here. I can only comment on Arundel who we picked up from you guys, I remember Grix saying he didn't adapt well to PT rugby (even though he looked a main stay from your 3rd place finish last year) he's been excellent for us this year. I'd use the word consistent. Nothing flash, but never has a bad game, works hard and is definitely a wingers centre.
You can have the best trainers in the world, but then you just become a team who's "trained well all week" running at invisible men but then fall apart in a proper game. We've all watched sides who are excellent in training but gash in a game.
Also I know Keyes has been a huge loss, but Fax have been relatively "lucky" on the injury side this year. It's not like Grix has been struggling to pick players, apart from Keyes he's virtually his whole squad to choose from everyweek which I guess adds to the frustrations.
Regarding Matt Shaw article, I get where he's coming from, but I think the frustration from your fans (and us) isn't entitlement, but there is a huge opportunity for all sides here. Second is wide open and even though Fev are the best team in the division, they're not on the level of a Leigh, Toronto, Fev of previous years. They're my favourites to go up, but I wouldn't be "shocked" if they didn't get promoted again, definitely beatable IMHO
There's a fine line between entitlement, and no longer caring.

Another one who left under a cloud.Personally I did expect a bit more flambuoyancy from him but as you say,he had other attributes, which we have badly missed this season. Our centres were gash last week and set the platform for our defeat. One a poor miss in defence and the other bombing a try by completely ignoring his winger.our other options there-one has been farmed out to the league below and the other is preferred as some sort of imaginary forward.

It's getting quite depressing seeing rival fans telling us how wonderful our ex players are doing! All we need now is for a sheff fan praising Gwaze and someone from York banging on about Harris!
I think it's no coincidence we're shipping in more tries down the edges since Worthington and Arundel left. They may not have scored many tries, but nowt got past them. A try saved is as good as a try scored, as the saying goes.

Fully agree with this - can not see us doing anything now but if was batley and fev in the final i would back Batley to upset them

Yeah that was a surprise. Unless Murray was injured I’m not sure why he is out the team. Tangata has been a liability for a long time now.
