I thought we made hard work of it, obviously not having a goal kicker is hurting us but we dominated the first half and then let them back in it with a few silly penalties. Losing Woody made a big difference and Morris been injured is a big loss. We are still winning though and its going to take a big change in fortunes for us to lose 3rd now but we are going to need to bring some players in before the playoffs and we would presume that there would be quite a bit of money available to do this. If the format changes to two up at the end of the season I can see us going all out to bring some quality in for the back end of the season.

I was worried that this would be a struggle with a lot of "knackered" players. In the circumstances just pleased with a win. Although I thought Newcastle were decidedly average, I thought our defensive organisation generally was excellent. At the moment wherever you put Salty he is playing brilliantly, Mcomb took his try really well and Fairbank had his best game for a while. Especially if Woody is injured, but even if not , a place must be found for Robinson as this is the second week running the lack of a goal kicker could have cost us the game.. Finally Akuma Tai who I was concerned would be a real threat put in in one of the laziest performances I've ever seen - in 20 mins in second half his only contribution involved bending down to tie his boot laces!

I think we have probably used up our luck and it's time now for an injection of a couple of players to maintain the impetus . I suppose it all comes down to what finance is available . I would have thought that with no furlough and rent payments resuming the picture is survivable if not necessarily comfortable . Still think Springer was a strange move when you consider the cost of a similar stature player.

Salty, as everyone knows who was there, put in a massive shift. Having to move position but kept coming in for work and always made good meters. Didn’t see what Tangata was sin binned for but by the South stand reaction it was a bit of play acting for the Newcastle player. But we won and that’s 9 on the bounce. Does Any know the last time we had a 9 game winning run?

Tangata put in ahit to the back of a player who had released the ball moments earlier - dumb act

Does anyone know what the last date for new players who are eligible to play in playoffs is? I was told today that it may have been last weekend, but no one was sure.

Im not sure but with Grix still actively looking for players I would presume we have not passed it yet.

Another poor performance, another win. Not much more to be said about that one. Up The Fax! :thumb:

For me the defence looked strong again we only conceded when a player down. Salty was very good and i think a few of the team could do with upping there work load to take some of the carries from him. A wins a win but for me the same problems week after week are still there in the halves i hope this is something simon is looking to change for next season unless there is a chance to bring someone in this season. It is no good keeping forcing repeat sets if you don't take advantage and score we need to score more points or eventually we will find ourselves on the wrong end of these tight games. The biggest reason why these games are so tight is because we waste chances through either poor decision making or poor execution we should of won by a lot more comfortable margin yesterday and in previous weeks too but i don't see this changing with the players we have got in the halves.

Fail to see why anyone can blame our halves, playing behind that pack.It must be the smallest and least damaging we've had in my memory. Was there a tackle bust in 80 minutes against Newcastle or Whitehaven...?
Get the two loanees back and a couple of props and we may have a chance of turning Fev over.Otherwise another wasted opportunity.Being third is fine if you're satisfied with that when two go up potentially and you're light years behind them...
