I thought Brian Mac interview was fine. Considering how he can be. He gave credit to Fax and highlighted some points about his team and wasn’t sure why they were that way during the game. If we beat York leats hope Fev are even more tiered even knacked when we play them in the semi final

When playing a a big pack like fev the game plan is to be in the contest when you hit the 12 th round , the reason why I believe Grix has recruited and trained fit fast forwards so they can outlast them , one thing we haven’t yet nailed is the discipline so unfortunately sometimes we’ve had to defend too many sets early on so we’re not as full as energy as we should be in the closing stages .

You were first to reply to the 2nd thread (entitled Simon Grix Is Out Of His Depth) with "Season over already. #faxdoingcheapoptiononceagainffs!". Not your most ringing endorsement, was it? The first thread, which was over a year later, sees you glumly referring to Grix as "the cheap option". Like I said, presumably ancient history now, like McDermott's comments in Toronto?

Hello phantom for me i have no problem with what brian mac said in his post match interview he is first and foremost your teams coach and is thoughts will be about fev and how they can improve for what's to come in the playoffs. As for the calling for simon to be sacked or not given the job in the first place i am happy to hold my hands up to that but at the same time i stand by what i said at that time. I was not happy with a number of issues surrounding simons appointment at that time and our performances for quite a while when he took over were for me by and large poor but i will give him and scott the credit they deserve for the team playing like they have done for most of this season and as for those issues that i had like you say that is in the past now and i think fax as a team are now at the the level of performance most of our fans will be happy with.

As I've said on here I personally wasn't sure about SG as our coach, that was my opinion which I have changed. That's a hell of a lot different to this forum being 'united in wanting Grix sacked'.

On tiredness, although there was plenty of effort from Fax but on Sunday when compared to the intensity we have been at in some of our previous outings there was some fatigue showing in us as well.

Understandable considering they only had a good 5 days to recover from the big defensive effort put in at Widnes.

To follow that up having to face the Fev monster forwards so soon after is a big ask and with Arundel going off for Gee early in the game obviously adversely affected the energy level of the pack in the interchange for much off the game.

On sacking the coach, when appointed i think many realised Simon had no previous experience so were rightly concerned but also acknowledged he needed time to get his own team in and then be measured on that.

Interestingly on sacking has there been any Fev fans thinking the same about BM Phantom?

PS: I saw and heard nothing in his interview that wasn't a fair open assessment from BM so soon after the game.

Yes, there have been plenty on social media, if that's what you mean. As perhaps was the case with Grix (and I should have noted this), maybe it's a case of a relatively small number of vociferous fans repeatedly moaning about him, I'm not sure.

Can't speak for other Fev fans but personally I take the view that as he was hired specifically becasue of his play-off record, there wasn't much point in demanding his removal before the season is over, especially as it's been obvious all year that we would make the play-offs.

As it stands we have a tricky semi final, probably against Fax, and then if we were to win that we'd likely have to leave our previous form this season a long way behind to stand a chance against Leigh. Presumably BM's future will be decided once the season is done.

I don't follow social media too closely mainly because it tends to soon become very unsocial over the slightest thing. so genuinely didn't know.

What you say makes perfect sense and who could have foreseen that Leigh would do what they have to the extant that they have, anything more towards previous performance levels in the comp as good as they have been from the former promoted sides and Fev could have easily been the favourites.

York for us will be a stiff test, previous results have been good but in a one off game apart from a confidence boost will mean little on the day.

I think Fax won't change anything and will stick to the same game plan whereas York will be working on something new to turn it around so any surprises are likely to becoming from them in this one, hopefully we will have enough whatever the case.
