Good to see a politician stand up unequivocally for what he believes in without cowering in front of the liberal thought police. Whether you agree with him or not on the issues of gay marriage, abortion, etc it is refreshing to see somebody stand up for what he thinks, despite knowing there will be a backlash from the loud-mouthed, intellectually stunted, self-appointed guardians of what we should think and say. Handled the ambush so much better than Farron.

Alternatively...

Good to see people stand up unequivocally for what they believe in without cowering in front of the ranting right wing media. Whether you agree with them or not on the issues of gay marriage, abortion, etc it is refreshing to see somebody stand up for what they think, despite knowing that out of touch, arrogant, right wing politicians, presenting themselves as Wodehouse characters, will foist their outdated 19th century views on the country as a whole.

Well he's probably made friends with some of the right wing members of his party and alienated the rest of the world.
I dont know if you noticed but, we have moved on since the 19th century.
Perhaps you should be happy that you aren't part of any of the minority groups that he's so much against.
He'll probably be advocating stay at home wives and mums and keeping people in their place, speak when spoken to and all that.
The guy needs to go back a time machine to the era that he so craves.

Nice one. I love it when a politician votes based on beliefs that came from an ancient book. Logic, fairness, equality, freedom are so overrated.

Well that's him ruling himself out of being Conservative Party leader then.

Likewise they love all that left wing momentum stuff in the guardian. If people did not like Rees-Mogg they would not vote for him. That's democracy, may not be the best system but it's still far superior to any other system.

Why? To me he will go up in people's estimation for being clear as to his belies and principles irrespective of whether or not they agree with him. The baying illiberal neo-fascist, 'liberal, mob will call for him go but fair-minded people will accept him.
