It would seem the little stumpy sod has irked Donald. Lets hope he doesn't get into a temper and do something daft. |

We now have 2 megalomaniacs residing over this conflict now. There's no way this will end well for anybody. |

Handy distraction for Donald from all the other stuff going on in the background in the US. |

And now his 'religious advisor' has stated that Trump has a biblical mandate to annihilate North Korea; the evangelist death cultists do get very excited about all that end of days stuff though - it's how they get their rapture. |

Leaders with poor opinion polls always seem to find a war to boost their popularity. |

I wonder if we would only get partially fried by a N Korean nuke, instead of obliterated by one from the US. Obliteration is probably the better option. |

Lambaste Trump all you want, and I agree to an extent, but that doesn't detract from the seriousness of this situation. We might not see war, but if we don't we still have to face up to the reality that we now have a nuclear armed North Korea during a time of great tension and uncertainty in that part of the world. KJU is desperate to hang on to power and after watching the way leaders like Gaddafi were toppled despite agreeing not to pursue nuclear weapons, and what happened to Ukraine when they gave up their nuclear weapons, he probably thinks that having nuclear capabilities will deter the US from getting rid of him. |

It's extremely worrying if N Korea has nuclear weapons and this does appear to be the case. However, should we be keeping them "onside" through diplomacy or, with the aggressive posturing and threats from a guy like Trump. Ironically, Trump may have enough good advice around him not to start a war but, by making such aggressive noises and lets hope, idle threats, does this make war more or less likely. Although N. Korea are a bit of an unknown quantity, even they must know that starting a war would be suicide but, someone has to give them enough diplomatic room to allow them to sit back down in their chair, without it feeling like they have "lost", the consequences of not doing so are unthinkable. The other aspect of this is that Trumps popularity at home is lawful and he probably sees that "getting one over" N Korea, may help him politically and again, this isn't good for anyone (apart from Trump himself). |

I agree with you, now is the time for diplomacy and it would disastrous for the US to strike first as it would no doubt start a third world war with NK, China and potentially Russia. It's imperative Trump doesn't act on his bluster, but we can't take war completely off the table. If done properly this could result in a much more harmonious relationship between China and the west, but there's no way NK will denuclearise themselves without a conflict, and that's the reality we have to face. Really, this shouldn't have been allowed to get this far. We should've taken the NK dictatorship years ago before China became so powerful, but countless leaders haven't taken them seriously. As a result, we're past the point of no return with regards to a peaceful resolution to this situation, and a peaceful removal of the NK dictatorship. |
