With Strictly Come Dancing and Dr Who on tomorrow evening nobody will have an excuse to have a sneaky view at ITV! I certainly won't be tempted.

Great, does that mean the Shiite Factor won't be on? :-)

Haven't had a telly for a year now and I can honestly say that I haven't missed anything at all

I don't think I could manage without a TV.I generally watch documentary's ,news programs, watchdog type programs etc, and RL.
Can I ask why you have decided not to have a TV

I realised that I hadn't even switched it on for 6 months and then sat and thought about what I actually did watch. Similar to you, it was mainly documentaries, news and current affairs programmes but sadly, I couldn't recollect anything outstanding I'd watched over the previous year.

Now I listen to the radio and occasionally view something on iPlayer or other catch-up services but simply do not find the quality of programme I enjoy.

The best example I could give is the difference between BBC1's Question Time and Radio 4's Any Questions. The former is well past its sell-by date. Another aspect is listening to drama on radio, makes me use my imagination to picture scenes and visualise characters.

There's plenty of stimulation available without the need for a telly

I would imagine that could prove useful over the lonely, long winter nights that are looking large.;-)

"praise" where it's due (you meant "credit")
"looking" when it's "looming"

Dally, up your game, or your medication.
