Last November in the House of Commons, there was a vote passed to end the privatisation of the NHS. Before it could be finally passed, it had to be scrutinised by MPs in the Committee Stage and two days were set aside. During that time a lot of MPs just wasted time (filibustered) and time ran out. Among some of the things, issues, characters from history that were included were
An affinity for creme eggs Bringing candles into the committee room Drinking habits of William Pitt The Younger Medieval poet Geoffrey Chaucer Tactics in the Napoleonic wars Asterix the Gaul Emile Durkheim Norse Gods Asterix the Gaul Why sleeping pills say "May cause drowsiness" on them The history of papal doctrine
Yesterday the Government signed off the largest ever privatisation deal in the histor.y of the NHS. It was for £780 million
If anybody wonders who were the MPs who behaved so childishly,it would appear that most, if not all, came from that side of the House were, as Dennis Skinner once said of them "half of them were not crooks".

It would be a best seller."[/b]
The MPs spoke about those subjects so the bill could not be passed ? How the chuff can they talk about those subjects when they are nothing to do with Parliament ?

"Drinking habits of William Pitt The Younger" this did have an effect on Parliament and probably a better one than the drinking habits of one Farage. Comment over. I know where you are coming from.
We are watching a democracy become a privatised business and, just when we can do something about it, the voters are put off by the above, by the behaviour in PM question time (despite Cameron's promise to stop it) and by poor morals displayed by people claiming high morals.

Insane teacher be there reminded of the rhyme.
There'll be no mutant enemy we shall certify;
Political ends, as sad remains, will die.

I doubt many people go into politics to help their fellow man, it's all about self interest. It may be different at local level but Westminster is all about self interest.
