The main question should be, if the MP for Shipley already has his own flat in London which he rents out, then why does he claim expenses for renting a second residence for himself - because he is allowed to is the answer. |

London is particularly bad. Vast swathes of property owned by 'buy to let' landlords who are charging £700 a month + bills to live in a 5 bedroom house-share in Clapham. The property market in this country is screwed, and for most people under 30 home ownership is dream that is unlikely to ever be realised until an elderly relative pegs it. |
