Anyone have an idea as to why, at times, first thing in the morning it hisses when being used but at any other time during the day it doesn't make a hissing sound ? It does stop when I turn the hot tap on more fully though. I don't have any leaks and the water is hot but cloudy at times too. Plus it only affects the kitchen tap. Could it be just air in the pipes first thing in the morning ? Thank you in advance for any ideas. |

The cloudiness could be air in the water, does it clear after a few minutes? Hot water meets cold pipe creates some sort of reaction which causes oxygen from the water to form tiny bubbles. Sorry for the very untechnical answers. |

Had a look at some sites and ithey seem to suggest it's air in the pipe that causes the hissing as it's fine at other times of the day but just noisy first thing in the morning seeing as the taps haven't been used all night and it is getting colder in a morning so the pipe reacts with the hot water. |

Had to have mine replaced in the bathroom last year, the cartridge had gone in the tap. At first it started making squeaks and hissing noises which then developed to the water pipe making a loud banging for a short period after turning off the tap. |

That banging sounds like you had water hammer. Hope all is fine now. |
