No, in the same way that worrying about workers rights doesn't make you left wing, though the two are quite closely linked. |

I also worry how easy it is for the press to manipulate and sensationalise these concerns to further their corporate agenda. Does this make me 'right wing'? |

The political spectrum is a strange thing anyway. I may agree with a Facist ideal, like self-determination, for example. I think that countries should govern themselves if they are capable and even if not they should be working on becoming able to. But then i could disagree with every other aspect of Facism. Surely that doesn't make me right-wing? Then similarly agree with many Liberal stances but would never vote for the Liberals. I think Farage is bang on with his words to van Rompuy "WHO ARE YOU?!" and "i sense that you are competent and capable and dangerous and i have no doubt that you are to be the quiet assassin of European democracy!" was so bang on that it deserved a standing ovation! But i wouldn't vote for UKIP. I don't think you can align yourself on the spectrum going off one, or even a number of, ideals that may lie on the spectrum somewhere particular. So if you are worried about immigration [why would you be, by the way? what is it in particular you may be worried about?] that doesn't make you right wing, no. |

Numbers concern me because I don't believe anything in the economy has been fixed and their is a good chance that the whole system of global debt based finance will collapse. If our currency became virtually worthless we wouldn't be able to import enough food to feed everybody because currently we have far too many people in the country to ever be self sufficient in energy and food. A lesser secondary concern is the extremely conservative ideological baggage some immigrants bring with them. Also I don't see how luring away talented people from poor countries helps the fellow nationals they leave behind. Instead of helping kickstart improvements for their fellow countrymen they'd prefer to look after number one which isn't very socialist, infact it's epitomises Tebbet's Thatcherite mantra of 'getting on your bike' to find work. |
