He is then filmes allegedly buing hard drugs in Leeds. Apparently an ex-Labour councillor and Methodist minister. The country has gone mad or at least did under New Labour.

So far it sounds like you think that the Labour Party forced him into a Bank Chairmanship he didn't want, so he donated its money to Labour and the bank went bust.

Only if you are ignorant of the history and links the co-operative movement has with the Labour Party.

The Co-operative party which is the political arm of the co-operative movement has always donated to the Labour party. In fact many currently sitting Labour MP's stand as "Labour and Co-operative party" members and receive funding from the co-operative party which of course comes from the co-operative society including the bank.

The is no link between the appointment of the chairman and the funding the Labour Party gets. Even the Daily Mail isn't daft enough to suggest that.
