Go on then,I'll be the one to comment about Maggie Thatcher, a minefield subject given the history of Rugby League. I was a young adult during the nightmare of the labour government in the 70's and unless you we're there you probably wouldn't understand. But for me she saved our country and I for one will be at the funeral in London and mourn her passing. Now I'm just going to get my tin hat because I think I may need it, especially from the Yorkshire contingent. |

A great loss for the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland. She did save the UK from ruin at the hands of the left wing unions. The pits were a drain on the national economy. The British people have been flourishing economically for most of the years ever since (not just now unfortunately). She secretly inspired Australian Labor's Bob Hawke and Paul Keating, and openly inspired Australian Liberals' John Howard, to institute economic reforms that have turned the Land Down Under into a thriving economic success. |

westender wrote:She has only been in hell 5 minutes and already she as shut 3 furnaces down We have just had a thread shut down on the Wakefield forum after some of the sickest most pathetic comments I have ever seen posted on this forum. One was by someone I though would be above that kind of thing, I've lost all respect for. I'm no Tory but she was no Hitler or Stalin and had more honesty in her than Tony Blair ever will. RIP but I doubt you'll get much from a certain section of society. |

Great PM who did wonders for the country. Quite ironic that a lot of her knockers wouldn't be able to post on here were it not for her crushing the Trade Unions. (Or have they forgotten the power cuts of the 70's?) So much better than any of the politicians we have today (of any political persuasion) |
