It seems like the Russians are enforcing this ban on beards well with the police forcing men to shave at gun point or threatening to burn them off with a lighter.

Judging by the readers comments this kind of state regulation is popular amongst Daily Mail readers and it may be something that could get some support if it was introduced here or maybe if the law was brought in at EU level.
