Well this is the Samsung helpdesk I'll ask a question then - I seem to have been donated, in exchange for my own new phone, a crappy old Samsung Galaxy S, no not an S2 or even an S3, just an S - its what happens when daughters prefer your new phone to their old ones. Which version of Android does it have and have you tried updating it to the most recent for that phone? Some of the old versions of Android used to limit memory card size. Another thing to try is putting another SD card in. SD cards are very breakable, particularly if used by girls. You say it won't recognise the USB, how do you charge it?

In my experience there is little between the SIII and the iPhone 4s/5 battery wise, bluetooth eats battery on them both as does WiFi searching when there is no WiFi to join.
