Just been watching the BBC feature on the Mayan prophecy and all I can do is a massive facepalm. Meteors, rogue planets, epic volcanic eruptions - please. We would have seen or detected these kind of things by now. My calendar ends in 11 days, does that mean we won't wake up on 1 January?
However I hate to be a grumpy so-and-so, so will any preppers out there be celebrating this once in a lifetime event in their own special way?

Pot, kettle? We know that the world is going to end tomorrow as much as you know your God exists.
A dog is the only thing on earth that loves you more than he loves himself.
When you rescue a dog, you gain a heart for life.
Handle every situation like a dog. If you can't Eat it or Chew it. Pee on it and Walk Away.

Advice is what we seek when we already know the answer - but wish we didn't

I've just had a turkey sandwich, pulled a Xmas cracker with myself, and am gonna pop across the road and shag my mates 17 year old daughter, just in case.
The Mayans at no point predicted the end of the world, it is merely the end of the long count calender after which another will begin, as it already has on numerous occasions. Do you think the world is going to end at the end of December? Its the same principle.
There is however a prediction that the world will enter a '6th age' as we are now in the 5th. This is not pinned to the 21st and does not predict the end of the world, merely the start of a new era.
The media has taken these SEPARATE events, linked them and sensationalised them. Unfortunately, society will believe anything and follow it like sheep.
