Beyond terrible.
In danger of ruining the whole fecking thing (which I've loved).
Connects to nothing, artists that aren't there, people whose material is utter shatpank.
Which massive gormclops signed this utter wankface of a dogs egg off?
The twatting Beatles have just come on, they won't be there either.
Utter sheeeitte, from a country I'm proud to belong to and has been brilliant up until now.
If there is no struggle, there is no progress. Those who profess to favor freedom, and yet depreciate agitation, are men who want crops without plowing up the ground. They want rain without thunder and lightning. They want the ocean without the awful roar of its many waters. This struggle may be a moral one; or it may be a physical one; or it may be both moral and physical; but it must be a struggle.

Elbow come on, totally change my mind.
Not like me that.
Totally like me.
Start a thread and kill yourself.
Beautiful.
Ugly.
Probably the latter.
The latter.

Nothing was going to beat that astounding, weird & wonderful opening ceremony - but yes, this has started very oddly and a little awkwardly. The rest of the world must just think we're fcking nuts.
Only real cock-up was misjudging the time it would take to get the athletes in place - hence repeating the opening music.
Anyway, it's barely got going! Might pull this out the bag yet.
Gutted the Olympics is finishing, what an epic 16 days. Exceeded everyone's expectations and then some.

In a continuation of ruining a thread that you've started...
Brilliant to celebrate the volunteers.
I was lucky enough to go to The Olympics twice, I'd been wanting to go since I was six in nineteen eighty, they made it. They were fantastic. Funny, helpful, witty, British, enthusiastic.
I was in Trafalgar Square a couple of weeks ago, just sat having a fag (default position) a woman approached a volunteer for a map, half a minute later the volunteer obviously thought : "I've got a better map!" and chased her half way across Trafalgar to give her the better map.
Awful at starting threads me, I try not to do it, for obvious reasons.

I don't know why you're so upset about playing music from people who have died. I didn't see any objection to Jerusalem being sung in the opening ceremony.
Anything that has Wonderwall, Always Look on the Bright Side of Life and We Will Rock You on top of a massive great Union Jack will do alright for me
