Just reading that Sepp Blater knew about bribes worth millions being paid to a former president and executive, neither of whom were disciplined. Instead, Fifa paid £1.64 million to a Swiss court on condition criminal proceedings were dropped.

How on earth do they get away with it??

Isn't it because the paying of inducements to promote trade and earn commercial contracts were not illegal in the countries they were paid and received in? So whilst against FIFA operational rules, they were not technically breaking any laws.

UEFA and FIFA are both completely corrupt organisations (Wholly my opinion, not that of RLFANS.com or it's owners). Their executives are on enormous salaries and totally open to bribes and personal gain. Blatter himself is the most hillariously incompetent man you will ever find in such a high profile position. His twitter boasts the other day about the reports on bribery and corruption not mentioning his name were unbeleivable, especially given the report had names taken out and replaced with 'P1' and 'EM3' and the like. He knew about the corruption and was probably right at the centre of it, but that's FIFA for you.

When a game relies upon and encourages its participants to cheat the referee by feigning attack and injury upon their person in an attempt to have an opposition player penalised, then you can understand how the infection spreads to the very top of the tree.

I can't see how it's any different from a culture where bankers gamble and cheat, where politicians lie and swindle, and where big business is able (and encouraged) to rely on the taxpayer to boost its own, private profits.

Another balanced post from you Mintball. So poorer people never cheat then!?

When poor people cheat they get sent to jail, when rich people cheat they get a golden handshake.

There are so many common sense rules and regulations that need to be brought in to football, then you see the...filth that run the sport and you understand why the game is just awash with filth and nothing will change for the better.

And if you read the VT, you'll find that it's pretty much the same in RL.
