A lovely film, I really must get a copy. (I guess most young people wouldn't get the same kick out of spotting all the many faces in it)
My dad used to watch it on the occasional Sunday afternoon with heaps of his grandchildren draped all over him and the armchair.
They all used to love it and watched it time and again.
Aye, Sykes was a star ... a very gentle star, none of his comedy had even the faintest trace of malice in it.
The episode of
Sykes where he and Hattie carry on with their bus route despite having no bus ... surreal and banal at the same time .. and so funny.
