World Number 1 not good enough for GB selection

Now, I admit I know four fifths of nothing about the sport, but how can the governing body select someone 92 plaaces down the rankings from the WORLD NUMBER ONE?

(other sports, politics and olympics I know, so if it's merged I comepletely understand)

Maybe team GB is working on a 50/50 ratio of black athletes and white athletes?

Sounds utterly bonkers to me, on the basis of what I'm reading from the OP's link. Utterly bonkers.

But then again, Ms Ennis is 'too fat' ...

As sad as the original story may be, THIS is far more wrong on so many level

Fooking Olympics, I was as pleased as anyone when we won it and yet I now can't wait for it to be all over and finished with.

In fairness watching them trying to police that is probably more interesting and exciting than over 70% of olympic events.

I just wish the Olympics would feck off to be honest. I could not be less interested in the whole thing; stupid amounts of money wasted.

And this torch carrying thing is a joke. It's meant to be a privilege to carry it, yet it's become much less of a privilege when you share that duty with 7,999 other people. I hate to think what the whole thing is costing.

Why can't they just have some games, preceded by the Queen cutting a ribbon and lighting the flame? Over, done with.

How much money has been 'wasted'?
