Post subject: | Dental work |
I had a surreal experience thus morning when walking the dog. Another dog on the field decided to jump up at my face and chip half a crown out of my front tooth. I am not currently registered with any dentists because I have never bothered after leaving the forces 3 years ago. I presume that i will have to pay for a new crown. Anyone have any ideas on the cost? I just want to brace (no Pun intended) myself for a hefty bill. Cheers |

It'll cost you a lot more than half a crown |

Find an NHS dentist (not as hard as the newspapers will have you think) I had a full crown fitted at a completely private dentist some years ago for £800 - the NHS one that I use now has a maximum cap (no pun) on costs, can't recall what it is but the £200 mentioned above sounds familiar. |

There are more NHS dentists places available than you think. The max they can charge is £204 for a course of treatment so if you haven't been for three years they will sort everything out for that price. They have to do the work so that you are able to be pain and discomfort free and havea healthy mouth and teeth. |

Happened twice in fact. The first time I suffered a black eye, and the second a bloody nose. That's not counting the number of times my own dogs have headbutted me aswell. Can't help with dental side of things I'm afraid, all my health care including dental work is taken care of by Menzis, a Dutch private health care company. |
