I had decided I was not going to go down the route of trying to get the cash back. Then the bankers decided to give me the 'v's' with regard to their bonuses. So all bets are off, I have since looked into it and the FSA's main problems with it is that they (The banks) just 'decided' not to mention that you could get the PPI elsewhere for a hell of a lot less. My conscience is clear now. |

My conscience is clear now. I got a few quid back a couple of years ago (before it was sancationed as the way to go). You will be amazed how quickly the figures mount up. I think we got back over £10,000 - alot of it interest. I wasn't just claiming mis-selling though, I was claiming back return of all premiums after the date I redeemed my mortgage with the initial provider. |

I had a quick think and I can think of 3 loans to me, one credit card which again I wasn't informed that I could insure elsewhere, One loan to my now wife before we met and one loan in joint names. If I read it right all the premiums plus interest on that lot are due to be returned, We also took finance via Nissan for our last car and once again IIRC we were not offered an option on PPI. As you say it soon starts to stack up. |

I have 3 old credit cards that have PPI on that i've just started process to claim back on, plus about 8% interest on the payments, so fingers crossed all will come back and will get a nice chunk of cash back from the robbing swines!!!! |

Going to look into this myself shortly - is it worth approaching one of the claim firms to do it, or is it easy to do yourself? |

I'm still amazed at fact that the banks won't lend to companies after the amount of times they have been told to do just that. At this rate they wont have to as anyone who has taken out a loan(s) with them will suddenly have the means to buy ' some stuff' again when they get the monies back from them due to their own (The banks) greed. |

Worth having a go yourself, the 'Claim Firms' can and do charge up to 30%. There's plenty of free advice online, and if the the bank says no, be persistant and threaten them with the Ombudsman, that tends to 'help them review the situation'. |

Is there a time limit on this?? Had a credit card for yonks (12 years ish) and still paying the minimum amount a month off the outstanding balance (yes I know its stupid and expensive), including PPI on every bill. |
