The redoubtable Karen Murphy has now won her High Court case, following her recent win in the ECJ, that she can show Sky sports games via a Nova subscription.
Seemingly she probably isn't allowed to show stuff like the trailers and symbols, and possibly the pre-match with the likes of Neville, so it's win all round, then.

I don't dispute that I was pointing out that Sky Sports Isn't available through a Nova subscription and therfore Gary Neville wouldn't be a pundit on there either.
My main issue with this case is that I can't see how the these publicans can win in the long term with this case.
In the long term I'd expect european subscriptions to increase or tv packages sold on a european wide basis.

So how is she going to be able to show a premier league match in her pub without having any premier league symbols shown throughout the match? Presumably even the foreign provider will show these types of things during a game, Or am I getting this all wrong?
Good on her though, Although I'm not sure which way this will go, either Sky will decide to lower their prices? or the foreign providers will get a lot more popular now they can be used to screen just the matches in pubs and inevitably they will up their prices aswell??
IMHO the fact that it is so easy to watch matches illegally over the net now is a much bigger problem than someone trying to keep their pub alive by using a cheaper satellite provider to show matches.

I was being facetious about the incredibly boring Neville, but yes it is mainly a Sky feed, it goes to Greece and comes right back here via their satellite feed. Maybe i should have said "Premiership soccer shown in the UK on Sky".
Quote:Instead of using Sky, on which it costs £700 a month to see Premier League matches, she used the Greek TV station Nova, which has the rights to screen the games in Greece, and which cost her £800 a year.

I've only read the report, but on a preliminary view I reckon if they start the feed at the point of kickoff, and stop it at the final whistle, that will comply. The screen logos are blurred out on Nova anyway.

.
Thats my point it's not mainly a sky feed. sky show and 116 games a season
most of the overseas channels show all 380 games. these games are produced by TWI.
Your original post was wrong and I was merely highlighting that.

I agree, every now and then the FAPL have a clamp down but as soon as one site is taken down another one appears in its place.
In fact I find it miles easier to watch streams with uk commentary now than in previous seasons

clubfoot fc is right. I've seen a lot of the 3pm Saturday games with all sorts of commentators on them, MOTD commentators, Martin Tyler etc, never a Sky feed.
