What's the best way to go about contacting a credit card company that you haven't had a CC with for years, to get your old details from in order to possibly submit a PPI claim? I'm 99% sure I took PPI out on it when I got it, cos I hadn't long started work and to be honest probably didn't know what it was. Can I ring them up and get them to post out or email me any docs relating to me taking the card out, or do I have to write to them to get it?? TIA |

TIA You'd be in a stronger position had you kept your own copies. Nevertheless, they will have a mechanism for dealing with these claims. May be worth checking the FSA and Ombusdsman websites before contacting them. |

Yeah I know, but once the balance was paid off and the card closed, I didn't think it was pertinent at the time. Will give them a ring and see what I can find out... |

For a fee of £1 (IIRC) you can demand a Subject Access Request and get copies of the original agreements and all your statements. Take a look at Consumer Action Group's website, they'll have all the info |
