Post subject:  Is a iPod classed as a mobile phone?

At work there is a poster saying switch off mobile phones, now I was using a iPod which has not got a phone feature and was told to turn it off.
I argued stating it says mobile phone and it wad not at this time I even showed my boss my mobile which was switched off.
I was sent to the office and I was given a warning.
Is there anything I can ask or do to see some kind of documents where it states switch off iPods electronic equipment etc,
I can only assume the ban them due to risk assessments so if I read through that and it says mobiles have I a case to complain the decision, I really want to get him with some clever terms etc.
Thanks

Here's my advice: Carry on being a 2@ and end up with the sack because you sure seem to be going the right way about it, all on your own.

Can an iPod communicate?

Is an iPod mobile?

Would you class it as a mobile communication device?

Still need advice?

Where do you work ?

Not literally but what sort of business is it, what sort of environment do you work in, do you normally listen to music all day long on your iPod ?

There could be a safety issue concerned with using ear/headphones as well as the mobile phone distractions.

They could easily fook you inside out with their legal team, take a bollacking, it happens to all of us.

Rule 1 - If work tells you to do something, di it.
Rule 2 - If you don't agree with rule 1 get a new job.
