They've been a cracking bunch on the whole. In 2011 all sorts of humanity came out of the woodworks and I feel we should have an end of year thread to celebrate them.

We’ve had a girl from wales getting stuck in a clothes horse, that lad who stole Basmati rice during the London riots, one of the finds of the millennium David Charlton from Strangeways and the charming Vincent Disneur from the Apprentice. Have I missed anyone out?

Anyhow I’ve compiled some categories where you can let everyone know who’s made your year and who hasn’t. Feel free to add your own as the thread goes on. Here’s mine

Bloke of the year: Frankie Cocozza
Women of the year: Tanya Gold (Guardian columnist)

Politician of the year: Tom Watson
Columnist of the year: John Harris (Guardian columnist)

Most improved person of the year: Charlie Sheen
Funniest person of the year: Karl Pilkington

Worse person of the year: Emma Harrison (owner of A4e)

Person gone in 2011 and most likely to be missed: Philip Gould R.I.P.

Damo you should send your suggestions to TIME magazine I think Frankie could go up there as their person of the year. I think more than most he is a symbol of modern Britain, I would have it between him and that Mark guy from the only way is Essex.

Women of the year: Rebekah Brooks and Imogen from Big Brother that was shagging Giggs

Politician of the year: Nick Clegg

Columnist of the year: Garry Schofield for his new column in League Express

Worst person of the year: Whoever taught Damo English, it's worst not worse

Person gone in 2011 and most likely to be missed: Joel Tomkins

I’ve yet to take time out from my busy schedule in life to learn from the television sensation that is Mark Wright. I guess I’ll wait till he overtakes Alan Sugar as the natural predecessor to run the Apprentice. Until then it’ll be good to just keep hearing nice things about him.

You really want to have another go at writing that.

There's certainly no predecessor waiting to take over your position Damo. Although there might have been, a while ago.
