After a long battle with cancer, Christopher Hitchens finally pops his clogs.

Drinker, smoker, wit and atheist. The written and spoken word are poorer for his loss

Been meaning to get around to reading 'God Is Not Great' for a while. Guess this will spur me on.

It must have been a hard life with Peter as your brother ... hence the drink I suppose.
I liked his stance on religion.
Unlike his foolish brother's.

But then God protected Peter and even named his gates after him, but let Christopher see them first.

I haven't been a Hitchens fan for long, around a year, but he and Dawkins have influenced me massively.

I'm glad I found his work before the churches start to rubbish him now he can't reply, loved his "Mother" Teresa programme as well as his debate with Blair and his interview with Paxman.

I bought his memoirs this morning, Hitch 22.

Not to mention Cameron's comments on religion last night.
