If it's for travel I just use by bank card in local ATMs. Seems to work out OK. |

Unless you're changing tens of thousands, you'd spend hours of time fannying around just to save the price of a beer in a cheap bar. |

Thats always my reaction to friends who go into frantic panic attacks if they think that I've got half a euro more than they did, in Corfu this year we were withdrawing 100 euros at a time using our debit cards and while we were stood at the cash machines people were asking us what the exchange rate was, I never even noticed and I certainly wasn't going to catch a bus to the next town to get one euro more on the transaction. |

I thought the Sin Bin was there for people to discuss topical issues not related to RL. I didn't realise it was a source of information for those who can't use a search engine. |
