Happened to a friend of my brothers once, he is an architect and they were visiting a client site in Normandy so decided it would be cheaper to charter an "executive" private jet from Leeds - on the way back the pilot told them they'd be landing in Bournemouth to refuel but after they landed he admitted that they didn't have a credit line there and did anyone have a credit card with them.
They'd actually bought shares in the aircraft and got cheaper charters because of that but it cleaned out his credit card to get home again
