Anyone know what the going rate is for Yorkshire stone flags? I've come across roughly 50 m2, with most of them being upwards of 8"" thick.

I'm a little reluctant to just start phoning round, because they're obviously going to want to come and view them, at which point they'll know where they are, and I don't want to wake up one morning to see they've all vanished in the night.

Not sure if this is the best place to be selling stuff stolen from Pavements somewhere in Yorkshire

I can assure you they're legit. Removed the names and dates off them myself.

I was just hoping some of the knowledgeable folk on here might have have been able to give me a rough idea of what price they fetch per 1m2? That would at least give me a ball park figure for when I start phoning round.

Why not get someone to phone a few places and ask how much you can buy them for?

Because that will invariably be a lot more than the price he can feasibly get from said people, obviously.

Our local quarry http://www.monebrosdiy.co.uk/sr.asp?id=15

At £72 a square yard thats, erm, a lot of money :D

Knowing Phil Mone (they are customers of ours) and if your flags are up to 8" thick he might even be interested in buying them himself to split ?

Incidently does anyone know the going rate for 3 miles worth of Railway power lines?

Hello Lord Sugar, nice of you to pop in.

Getting an idea of what others retail them for will give him an idea of what he can expect to get if he moves them on. I'd say it's a fair bet whoever is shifting reclaimed York flags is working to a minimum 100% markup

Coddy gets today's gold star for correct terminology.
i.e. York stone.

You don't say. You see, it is just this level of genius insight, that you can't really get anywhere else. Thank you so much.

In fact, I was so inspired by this post that I spoke to Tescos and (you won't believe this) apparently, the price I pay them for a can of beans is MORE than they buy them for. Is this practice widespread?
