They are forced into expensive download prices by the retailers. Retail is still generating 90+% of game sales for 360, publisher's who are taking away their business by offering cheaper download prices will find they no longer have any of their games on the featured shelf as you walk into the shop, or at the start of the aisle in ASDA, or the front page of the Amazon game section.
If piracy wasn't so rife for PC games you wouldn't see all the great deals on Steam either.

Got round to finishing Arkham City the other day. Wasn't expecting the ending at all. The final boss is a bit rubbish, another one of those games where it's just too easy compared to what you've already done during the game.
Anyone played Crysis 2? Picked it up on the cheap for about a tenner and enjoying it so far. It's a bit different from your average shooter. Nice graphics even for a game that's a couple of years old and it gives you quite a bit of freedom for how you go about getting to your objective.

Its barely 12 months old. I loved it and at the time it was the best game I've seen on a console. Its got a good story. Although its far easier than the first game although I prefer it overall.

Its an absolute joke. 15 years ago you could understand why N64 games were 50 quid each with them being cartridges but to still charge that now for dlc games is robbery. Reason why I never buy a game on release day. I've wanted SSX for a couple of months and I managed to get it for under £25 now!

No idea why I thought 2 years, must be another game! Managed to finish it last night and it did get a bit too easy towards the end, mainly because the stealth on the suit had become overpowered and you could just choose to avoid all enemies or wait until they're on their own and sneak attack them. Some great set pieces though. Loved the massive alien things you had to fight. I'll definitely get a third one if they make it.

As mentioned above, if they made full retail games available for reasonable prices online, they could all but kill off the high street retail sector because of the extra costs they have in logisitics and overheads etc. Having games on sale in shops is probably the easiest advertising there is for the console manufacturers and without it, they could drift out of the minds of shoppers, particularly around Christmas.

I can see this franchise going on for a while, the ending suggests they plan to make quite a few. If you fancy a challenge play it super soilder difficulty. Basically if they see you you get paggered.

Yeah, the story was a bit confusing with me not having played the first one, but it did seem to indicate that there could be sequels set within a number of cities.
Super soldier was the difficulty I played on! I don't bother playing on anything less than the hardest difficulty on games, mainly because games tend to be too easy these days and it unlocks more achievements without me having to play through the game again because I have that many unplayed ones in my collection.
