I'll not forgive her for snatching my milk from my 7 year old hands, nor making me work for £29.50 for a 45 hour week or paying full poll tax out of said YTS "wage" even though I was 18 and still living at home.

I went on my first protest march against the poll tax in 1990 and have only done it once since and that was 2 weeks ago against the bedroom tax.

I was only 12 when the miners went on strike but I remember sending some pocket money to some charity or other to help the miners children and wondering what we'd do if she decided to upset the fishermen (dad was a filleter)!!

While not wishing to speak ill of the dead, I can't see many people grieving over her demise (me included).

WTF is Camoron scurrying back home? What can he do?

She's dead, he can't revive her. Maybe he hasn't been as well received in Europe as he'd hoped?

A lot of really hypocritical people on this thread. The kind that jump all over any kind of disrespect for the dead suddenly all over this as if they've won the lottery.

Thatcher as a politician you may not agree with, but FFS she was voted into power and she did a lot less damage to this country than the previous Labour governments and I don't see the lines of people on here counting down the days till the deaths of Blair and Brown.

He's got to devour her heart whilst it's still fresh in order to gain her power.

Leeds Rhinos? 8 for you, Leeds Rhinos! You go, Leeds Rhinos.

And none for Castleford Tigers. Bye!

Personally I think actively celebrating anyone's death is pretty classless.

Corrected for accuracy.

Mildly amused at the hordes of greying Brits spewing rabid schadenfreude all over the internet.

Love her or hate her she was a formidable woman and PM and I doubt anyone else could have done a better job in those times, certainly none of the muppets we've had since. The country was in a p*ss-poor state domestically and globally and declining fast, and whether you agree with them or not she made a lot of hard decisions that needed making. I understand why great swathes of the population despise her (leaving aside it being the trendy thing to do) but she also had many moments as a great PM.

We can't complain too hard; we voted her in three times, twice by sizeable majorities.

Wonder if my letter from her is worth something now? :)
