There are many white Africans but if you called a black man a "stupid African ****" then that's hugely racist. I see this as the same.
Polynesia is an area that has a distinct culture, history, and shared physical characteristics. That makes it a race.
I think you raise some fair questions but I'd say it was most definitely racist and the proverbial book should have been hurled at him.
Bradford have Flanagan out for a similar length ban for attacking Bussey's knackers. There is little to no video evidence of it happening, Flanagan denies it, and Bussey was heard to say "I've got you now". So either Flanagan is a liar and frankly a sh1thouse for attacking someone's balls, or Bussey is a liar and a sh1thouse for maliciously getting a fellow player banned.
The point I'm making is just how difficult it is to pass judgement in instances where the evidence is solely the testimony of two opposing blokes. Essentially with AS and Clubb we know that either someone is lying or someone misheard something. Can Clubb really recall the exact conversation in the detail he gave in that statement? If the statement is correct then is AS lying or just mistaken? Or is the statement completely false and is Clubb lying?
In both instances, the attacking of the joyglobes and of racism, the act is repellent and doing nothing isn't an option, but its a tricky one to navigate.

The full text of the decision seems to indicate that Clubb should not have brought the word "Polynesian" into it, the swear word not being relevant to the charge.
I may have been called a Yorkshire **** many times, but I could not for the life of me take being called a Yorkshireman as racism. Nor even a "caucasian" ****
I think that the RFL did not want to be seen to be letting Clubb off in any way, and maybe that is fair enough - but the size of the ban is to me ridiculous.
The context is that Clubb is saying that Savelio isn't Polynesian, noting that Savelio was born in NZ with a Samoan father, albeit moved to Warrington in his early years.
So I'm guessing you'd be more upset if someone said your weren't English or you weren't a proper Yorkshireman, as that's what essentially Clubb has said, and therefore why it's taken within the remit of racist abuse.
