I fear you have given your age away because it is a film I remember well because it’s release coincided with the election of one of the worst PM’s with regards the North.

Momentum at the very heart of Labour - Corbyn and McDonald are simple Jon Lansman's puppets.

Your job is to say to yourself on a job interview does the hiring manager likes me or not. If you aren't a particular manager's cup of tea, you haven't failed -- you've dodged a bullet.

It's all getting sordid and messy, with MP's form both of the main parties resigning and getting sacked for all sorts of things and The Tories carrying on with their schoolyard "pranks" - another bogus twitter account to ridicule the Labour Manifesto and a lack of candidates in Wales.

The Tory "brains" seem to be in the form of Johnson's henchman (Cummings) and he's not covering his man in glory and yo seem to have forgotten all about the defections to the Libdems 9from both parties0 and of course the racist remarks from "our" leader.

The current period of politics will certainly be remembered, although not for the right reasons.

I completely agree with you - the Tory campaign is lack lustre and not very governmenterial. Labour's lacks credibility.

Its been a very poor campaign - neither leader can rise above the mainstream as they both have closets full of bogeymen

The Tories are doing everything they can to avoid the mistakes last time round, when some bright spark at Tory HQ decided a crucial GE was a good time to roll out a highly controversial policy, which subsequently became known as 'dementia tax'. That was the killer.

So this time it's reasonably low-key (so far). The official manifesto launch is today, but I don't expect anything controversial - just 'good news' policies.

The problem is will the country accept a manifesto that is basically saying no change to the current status quo other than the additions of the economic problems Brexit will bring. I also remember the promise by the conservatives that they would not increase VAT, that one lasted well into the first session of Parliament.

May's manifesto was a joke - neither Timothy or Gummer who wrote it are still operating within the Tory party - thankfully

I agree but there is no appetite for continued austerity and the public have to believe that the current status quo cannot be maintained. Investment in the NHS/Schools has to be delivered. I get where Boris is coming from - but he cannot do a May and hide - he has to be out there campaigning - Corbyn looks like he is slowing down a little.

I see have just found another £12bn of un-costed spend!! And the sneaky removal of marriage tax allowance impacts a hell of a lot more than the top 5% - seems it just not the Tories that aren't honest with the electorate!!

How is it sneaky exactly? It's in the manifesto.

"Brian McDermott, with a wry smile, nods when asked if he remembers a specific incident which made him realise he was a prick. 'I do', he murmurs."

For the Tories, nothing in the Labour Manifesto counts but it's ok for Boris to say what the hell he wants without any proper scrutiny.
EVERY promise made by him so far has proven to be wildly exaggerated or just plain wrong.

It will be interesting to see where any of the cash comes from to implement their spending spree and all without ANY tax rises

Well Angela Raynor was pretty coy when asked - she didn't answer.

All everyone hears is McDonald saying anyone earning <£80k will not pay anymore tax - that simply isn't true is it?

Given this policy impacts the tax of more people than any other tax policy you would think they would want to talk about it - Raynor certainly didn't on Marr this morning :D That's why its sneaky
