No, why do you?

Yes, it's like a group of people campaigning against people percieving them as lager louts and once a year going to Magaluf on a P155 up to celebrate

Current thoughts - Mago out or get running up them plantations, get fit or get rid.
Maybe a back up halfback, someone with a bit of experience on a short term deal.
Big tall strong running second rower, like a McMeekin or Sironen type back rower.

I knacked the quote, apologies.

Pride really isn't a campaign, it's merely people celebrating who they are.

If there is no struggle, there is no progress. Those who profess to favor freedom, and yet depreciate agitation, are men who want crops without plowing up the ground. They want rain without thunder and lightning. They want the ocean without the awful roar of its many waters. This struggle may be a moral one; or it may be a physical one; or it may be both moral and physical; but it must be a struggle.

How is a hermaphrodite placed in the equation?

Is there even an equation?

Mintball wrote:Since it seems to be of interest to some – and confusion – and taking on board a suggestion, let's have a thread.

At it's simplest, sex is – in effect – determined by what genitalia you're born with.

Sexuality is who you are attracted to.

Gender is do with the roles that the sexes are culturally expected to play. So – simply, again – a boy is culturally expected to play with cars (and is therefore more likely to do so) while a girl is culturally expected to play with dolls (and is therefore more likely to do so), and both these forms of cultural 'teaching' have long-term impacts in terms of what males and females study at school and later, what they do as a career, what hobbies and sports they enjoy, how their relationships are organised and much more. It could be said to start with male babies being dressed in blue and female babies being dressed in pink.

On sexuality, there is no evidence for a gay 'gene' – but there is also no evidence that sexuality is something that is chosen. Homosexuality is not the 'norm', but it is natural.

Some males are more 'feminine' than others – this is not, of itself, any more an indicator of sexuality than being a 'masculine' male is.

Some women are more 'masculine' than others – this is not, of itself, any more an indicator of sexuality than being a 'feminine' female is.

Human sexuality is a wide spectrum. Problems start when we expect it to be limited.

Gender is a social construct.

Makes for a colourful and diverse world.

I've always assumed that 'camp' and 'butch' to be no different to 'feminine' or 'masculine' - just aspects of a personality. I know a couple of blokes who are as camp as they come, both of whom are straight as straight could be. One of them regularly uses it to bed some very attractive women....
The scooter scene is also very full of 'masculine' women, but they all seem to be married/living with bloke (who generally also rides a scooter).

I've lost track of the point I was trying to make now.

Anyway, when do we start on fetishes Minty?

Agreed. I was going to write something similar earlier. It is most emphatically not all about gender expectations. The differences between (most) boys and (most) girls is absolutely huge an inborn.

I thought the most interesting question that arose on here recently, (by accident) was the simple question: are people born gay?

Sub-question: to what extent is homosexuality a genetic thing?

It seems fair forum game, too, as googling around I see that despite myriad efforts nobody has either pinned down or disproved a "homosexuality gene". Maybe the smart money is on epigenetics.

Anyway, if the proposition is, you can't ehlp the sexual attraction that you're born with (however that happens), I was going quite well in defeating a mate in an argument about this until he came back with "OK then, if there is some sort of genetic thing, and you can't help it or choose it, how come so many are attracted to sex with animals? What gene is that and what point does it have?"

I'm still scratching my head.
