I find myself in urgent need of a new laptop as my barely-out-of-warranty Dell just fried itself (luckily the HDD is recoverable). I'm looking for something with a dedicated graphics card for light/med gaming alongside business use. I'm also looking for reliability and ATM I'm a bit anti-Dell on that front.
Toshibw often get a mention as being solid machines but I must admit the variety available at the usual outlet (PC World etc.) isn't inspiring. Any suggestions?

You bought a Dell because it was inspiring, buy a Toshiba cause it runs and runs...
Also check out Acer, bargains to be had but the dedicated GFX card may take you out of the mainstream.

I bought a Dell because it was reasonably priced for the spec and I had good service from my last one. This experience has been less than stellar from day one so I won't be making that mistake again.
I've bought Toshiba's for my Mum and Daughter and they've been rock solid. The downside is they can be pricey if you want anything other than bog standard. Ditto Sony. I've found a nice Lenovo Ideapad with the spec I want for pretty much bang on my budget but I'd have to wait a few days for delivery.
Acer I'm nervous about as the last one I had was a nightmare. That was a few years ago mind.

Is anyone else having trouble using the "back" button on here? When I press it it often doesn't go anywhere, but stays on the same page. If I click the down-arrow next to it, the history shows that there are often 3 or more copies of the same page. I've seen this kind of issue with advert systems on sites before on other sites.
You can see that the browser is responding to the back, as there is a status flicker at the bottom of the screen, and a progress bar fills in.
Back button works fine elsewhere, and in fact often works ok on here, but when it fails on a page, it repeatedly fails on the page.
