Agreed a good point

Your job is to say to yourself on a job interview does the hiring manager likes me or not. If you aren't a particular manager's cup of tea, you haven't failed -- you've dodged a bullet.

There are plenty of ANPR cameras around that could help enforce such bans . They read your registration plate and know if the vehicle is taxed , tested , insured , and who should be driving it . If you drive past one in a vehicle registered to a banned driver then you are instantly pinged to local plod cars and you will be pulled over . I was once stopped four times in one day near York for having no test/tax/insurance , and the vehicle not being registered . Plod said I had been highlighted by local cameras .

So if (for instance) I cop a driving ban for drink driving in Scotland (highly unlikely), then the next time I go I just take the wifes car.

Or are you proposing that thousands of police man the roads and stop every car that is being driven by someone of the opposite sex to which is registered as the named owner ?

Could be fun with company cars and HGV's.

Just drive around with a Masonic case on your passenger seat, you'll be fine

Regarding my comment about thick drivers and a reply about competency
uk car accident compilation 3
Type into a well known video website search and watch. As for the rest of the world..............

The technology exists to prevent these people ever getting into a vehicle, but again it's costly. It could be done but it won't so just accept that there are idiots, drunk or not that are out to kill, injure and maim you.

Accidents happen - to suggest drivers drunk or not are out to kill others is simply preposterous.

Equally preposterous - to suggest that a high % of drivers don't give a poop whether they kill somebody or not is - even for your warped sense of right and wrong - plain nuts.

Sorry but an "accident" in a car is when the sky falls on it, a la Chicken Licken.

Anything else, there's at least one party at fault.

That is not an "accident"

Can't disagree with that Coddy, the exception being some kind of failure with the car.

But realistically, people will always have odd lapses of concentration, and as with all aspects of life, people will make mistakes and bad decisions. It doesn't mean they don't care, nor does it mean they are bad drivers. But until cars drive themselves (not far away from being reality btw), there will always be human error.
