Or its climate change, as has been predicted and talked about for years

What about 241 years ago? Who's to say it wasn't as bad then?

UKIP man is still nuts

Well there was the mother of all floods a tad over 2000 years ago and no-one complained then about dredging or sandbags.

Search that YouTube thing for Bill Cosby, Noah, he has all the info.

Yep. Those damned gay Commies. Perverting our children with their "unnatural" ways and insistence on common ownership.

Doesn't have to be floods = plague, pestilence, etc, etc.

Didn't ancient Greece's society lose it's prominence after a period of decadence?

Incidentally I know Dally is just on the wind up, but I despair at just how many people there are, in the 21st century, who would really believe that local floods in one corner of one continent would be a sensible way to "punish" a section of a population. For starters, 99% of the "punished" absolutely don't believe it is anything to do with any god - even if it was - so it is singularly pointless. The few siren voices that do seek to convince are roundly ridiculed. So what would be the feckin point? What would this god be achieving?

Secondly, given that god is supposed to be literally omnipotent, how come he can't come up with anything more relevant? Is he just totally unimaginative, or what?

What of god's most loyal followers who fully support his homophobic views, yet happen to live in Somerset and are under four feet of water, having lost everything? Oh wait - no, I think I may know this one; that's just a "test of their faith". Am I right?

Next, what exactly was it that the dinosaurs did to pi ss god off?

And given a large slice of the world gets flooded to buggery in monsoons on an annual basis, which god/gods did the people in those countries annoy?

And given the freezing cold and extreme blizzards in the Antarctic, I don't even want to know what the penguins did wrong.

God gets very drunk some evenings and this is his equivalent of coming home from the pub and playing war games on the xBox until 4am - you will note just how many times these rains, floods, storm and tempest happen in the early hours of the morning - Mrs God has locked him out of the bedroom again.

Well, there you are then. Possibly ancient Greece's "society lost its prominence after a period of decadence". I was a doubter, but surely that is unequivocal, unambiguous, conclusive, indisputable proof that god was punishing Greek society for being decadent. Not slaughtered en masse; not even decimated in horrible plagues. "So bad have ye been that yea, verily, over a few centuries I shall see to it that [i]your society shall lose its prominence. Just ye see if I don't. And then shall ye be truly bothered, oh yes. It is a shame that I can't fix something up to punish the decadence whilst you are starting it, to cut it off in its infancy, as it were but hey.."

BTW I have just received a desperate plea from Somalia. Can you tell god, they've been being total piratical kidnapping murdering basstards for years now, when the fook is he going to send them some rain? Surely hijacking millions of tonnes of commercial shipping and kidnapping abusing and killing innocent civilians is a bit worse than two people getting wed in a church? This god is even more inconsistent than the RFL disciplinary.
