There is a parallel when Britain decided to carve up the middle East british policy was to " Create a loyal little Jewish Ulster in the sea of arab nationalism "
This is a direct quote from Ernest Balfour.
Britain jointly with France created the situation that exists in Palestine and the middle East that exists today. Check out the Balfour declaration and the Sykes Picolt agreemnent.
So when all the tossers come on here blaming the palestinians, supporting israel or saying i am neutral they are both as bad as each other they are just apologists for the British governments consistent actions over the last 99 years.

Hamas actualy has very little option.
Do nothing and watch Gaza and the palestinians slowly die or carry out ineffectual rocket attacks because that is the only way anyone in the west ( who can influence Israel) will actually take any notice.
No rockets and no one even thinks about Palestine

It could substantially increase its options if it abandoned its inviolable position that it will never under any circumstances recognise Israel. In some ways that has about as much point as a native American swearing he will never recognise the US.

The rocket attacks aren't achieving anything though, they don't seem to be killing any great numbers and Israel is still land grabbing and killing Palestinians in huge numbers. The end to this latest ceasefire was interesting, usually there's an immediate start to hostilities on both sides so it's hard to pinpoint who actually struck first. This time Israel didn't do anything and let Hamas fire away for a bit before relaunching, just to prove a point.
The problem seems to be that no-one really seems to give much of a toss about what's happening, apart from the Grauniad reading, professional morally outraged.

I'm off to the town hall tomorrow to ask them to put on a show of solidarity for the Yazidi's trapped on Sinjar.
Yet i would argue that there is a very strong correlation between those that are involved sympathetic to ISIS and those who feel angry at western involvement in backing corrupt Arab regimes and doing nothing to put any REAL pressure on Israel to come to an acceptable two state solution.
