Round Two of the Qualifiers saw the first ever Super League visitors to Toronto to face the Wolfpack while Salford Red Devils and Widnes Vikings played in a crucial game between two sides looking to retain their Super League status.

The Leeds Rhinos made the trip down to London to face old boy Danny Ward’s Broncos side who were boosted by their win at Widnes last weekend with the final game being the visit of Halifax to the South of France to play Toulouse.

On Saturday afternoon the Salford Red Devils made it two from two with a comprehensive 32-6 win away at Widnes to plunge the Vikings into deep trouble with back to back losses. Salford would finish the weekend at the top of the pile thanks to a superior points difference over the Leeds Rhinos.

Toulouse got their first win of the competition after going down to the Rhinos last weekend at Headingley. Centrone grabbed himself a Brace (13 and 33 minutes) with Macron adding a third home try before the interval. Kheirallah converted the first and third tries for 16-0 at the break. Robin and Marion, with both tries converted, pushed the lead to 28-0 before a seventy-fourth minute Fleming consolation which was converted by Tyrer for a final score of 28-6.

It was a disappointing night for Toronto Wolfpack as they lost 28-22 to a Hull KR side who knew that they needed the two points to avoid themselves getting drawn into the bottom three, although it was a very competitive game between two sides with great aspirations.

The final game of the weekend was in London where the Rhinos also made it two from two with a 48-32 win over the Broncos despite a valiant fightback from Danny Ward’s side.

The Qualifiers now take a week off while attentions move to the Challenge Cup.
